Each DS turns on and charges, but the top screen is blank or is not visible. The bottom screen works though, but it will likely have a yellow tint to it. The bottom screen will never have dead pixels, white edges, or anything similar - but again it may be yellow.

All of them turn on, and all of them will have a bad top screen. It may be completely white, black, cracked, glitched out, or otherwise not visible. The bottom LCD will be good, but it may have a yellow tint to it.
In addition, even though they all turn on and have a quirk to the top screen, the digitizer may need replaced, the buttons may need cleaned, and the cartridge ports have not been tested. However, bad buttons are common but are also an easy fix. And, it's very, very rare for cartridge ports to not work. At the most they just need a little cleaning which all you need for is a DS/GBA game. Each DS sold on this listing has been tested and will include a note of all issues with it, so that you know exactly what you'll need to do to fix it up.
Also, if you're making a Gameboy Macro out of this, then you can peel up the top layer of the digitizer - this will make it look like new, but will render it unusable; however, touch isn't used for GBA games.
The hinge may or may not be broken on consoles sold on this listing, it depends on my current stock. You will not receive the same consoles that are shown in the photos; they are just examples of what you may receive.
